Does Efficiency Hide Injustice? | Sindy

Does efficiency always represent progress—or can it sometimes conceal injustice?

In this short, reflective monologue, Sindy explores how streamlined systems and optimized decisions can quietly hide uneven impact. When friction disappears, harm can become less visible—even as everything appears to function smoothly.

A calm reflection on efficiency, fairness, and invisible asymmetry in modern life.

SCRIPT:

Efficiency is usually framed as progress.

Faster.
Leaner.
Fewer obstacles in the way.

And on the surface,
it feels neutral—
even helpful.

But efficiency also removes friction.

And sometimes,
that friction was where harm
became visible.

When decisions move too smoothly,
there’s less space
to notice who is being rushed,
overlooked,
or quietly excluded.

Efficiency doesn’t ask
who absorbs the cost.

It just asks
whether the system keeps moving.

And maybe that’s the risk—
not that efficiency is wrong,
but that it can make injustice
harder to see
once everything runs
without resistance.
