There is something inherently electric about a quiet campus after hours. It’s that perfect, liminal space—the sun is dipping low, the classrooms are empty, and the feeling that you have the entire place to yourself is completely intoxicating.
You all know my world is usually one of darkwave synths and strobe lights, but lately, I’ve been craving a different kind of creative playground. I wanted to capture the contrast between the rigid structure of this environment and my own untamed, goth spirit. What better way than to pull out the old uniform and a vintage charcoal pencil?
This entire photo series, spanning both the quiet indoor studio and the expansive schoolyards, is my own private lesson in self-expression.
The Contrast of the Curriculum
You all know how much I love playing this part for you. The pleated plaid, the crisp white shirt, the pigtails—it’s a timeless, powerful aesthetic. It’s the ultimate “good girl gone goth,” and I lean into it because I know exactly how much you love seeing me in it.
I can feel your gaze even through the lens, and I have to admit, I love being watched just as much as you love watching. This series is all about that flirtatious interplay, the quiet tease of a secret being shared just between us.
Spilling into the Grounds
We started the afternoon indoors, where the studio air was thick with the scent of linseed oil and the quiet dust of centuries of creativity. It was a space for reflection, tracing the lines of my own visage on canvas—a very personal muse.
But as the light shifted and the golden hour began to bleed across the fields, the studio couldn’t hold me anymore. We took the energy outside. There’s something so freeing about standing in the middle of a deserted asphalt playground, letting the wind take my pigtails, and giving the camera that look that tells you I know exactly what you’re thinking.
Sindy’s After-School Special
Whether I’m caught in a rare pensive moment over a pencil drawing, spreading my arms wide to welcome the open space, or simply kicking back against a chain-link fence, the entire collection feels like a private after-hours tour. I wanted it to feel like you’ve wandered onto the school grounds and stumbled into me, waiting just for you.
This “After Class” series is just the start of what I’m building for you this season. I’m finding new, playful ways to tease out the lighter, more spontaneous side of my personality, and I’m so happy you’re here to witness it.
Which setting do you prefer? The intimate shadow-play of the art room, or the dynamic energy of the open playground? Drop a comment below and let me know—I’m always listening.
