People claim they value honesty.
But a lot of the time… they really value appearances.
Because an honest sinner forces people to confront something uncomfortable.
At least the honest sinner admits what they are.
Admits their flaws. Their desires. Their contradictions.
But dishonest saints?
They know how to perform morality.
They say the right things.
Wear the right mask.
Protect the image people want to believe in.
And people are strangely willing to forgive hidden corruption as long as the performance stays intact.
That’s the irony.
Sometimes people hate visible imperfection more than concealed hypocrisy.
And honestly…
I think transparency scares humans because it destroys the comforting illusion that morality is always clean and simple.
