The latest entry in the UNHOLY ICON series turns one of the oldest biblical stories into something cinematic, intimate, and deeply unsettling.

Inspired by the story of the Tower of Babel, this image featuring Sindy and Tiffany re-imagines humanity’s obsession with power, ambition, and self-destruction through the lens of emotional rebellion. Behind them, the impossible tower spirals endlessly into storm clouds while civilization tears itself apart below. Fires burn across the city. Crowds panic in the streets. Lightning crashes through the sky as the structure begins to collapse under the weight of its own arrogance.

And in the middle of all that chaos, Sindy and Tiffany kiss. That moment is what transforms the image from spectacle into symbolism.

The phrase “Some Prefer To Speak In Tongues” works on multiple levels throughout the piece. On the surface, it references the biblical confusion of language associated with Babel itself. But visually, the image twists that meaning into something far more human and emotionally charged. While society below them fractures into noise, panic, and division, Sindy and Tiffany communicate through intimacy rather than words. The world around them is collapsing because humanity can no longer understand itself — yet the connection between them remains immediate and undeniable.

Visually, the image intentionally shifts away from the emotional survival themes of the recent flood-inspired UNHOLY ICON artwork. This time, the atmosphere is louder, more violent, and more grandiose. The towering architecture dominates the skyline like a monument to unchecked ambition, while Sindy’s black gothic attire and intricate tattoo work stand in sharp contrast to Tiffany’s softer, flowing appearance. Together, they create a visual balance between destruction and vulnerability, rebellion and devotion.

The kiss itself is not meant to feel sexual or provocative for the sake of shock value. Instead, it represents emotional intensity in the face of collapse. The world around them is literally falling apart, yet for a brief moment neither of them seems concerned with anything except each other. That emotional defiance is what gives the image its power.

The UNHOLY ICON series has always explored the uncomfortable space between condemnation and admiration, temptation and liberation, beauty and destruction. This image may be one of the clearest examples yet of that philosophy. Babel was ultimately a story about humanity reaching too high and destroying itself in the process.

But even as the tower crumbles, Sindy and Tiffany remain completely consumed by one another. Sometimes the loudest statement in the world is made without speaking at all.
