Sock Drinking: America’s Newest Addiction

Dark, dramatic SIN Soda public service announcement featuring goth musician Sindy seated solemnly in a black armchair wearing an elegant black dress and matching white crew socks. Her knees and legs are naturally separated with both feet facing forward, creating a stark comparison between one clean white sock and the other heavily stained with dark red Cherry SIN soda. Sindy looks downward with a serious, introspective expression while a can of Cherry SIN Soda and the two separate stainless-steel pieces of the SIN Soda Sock Sip Cup sit on a small table beside her. Large distressed typography reads, “Sock Drinking: America’s Newest Addiction,” followed by “It started as a challenge. Now some Sinners can’t stop.” Additional PSA text reads, “If you or someone you know has a sock drinking problem, you’re not alone. Help is available.” The National Sock Drinkers Anonymous hotline is listed as 1-800-555-SOCK, with GothGirlSindy.com at the bottom. The somber lighting, serious composition, stained sock and discarded Sock Sip Cup equipment parody the visual style of a legitimate addiction-awareness campaign.

It started as a challenge. Now some Sinners can’t stop.

What began as a simple way to experience SIN Soda differently has grown into something no one could have predicted. Across America, ordinary soda drinkers are discovering the bold world of sock infusion—and for some, one sock is never enough.

The warning signs can be easy to miss. A mysterious Cherry SIN stain on an otherwise clean white sock. An unusually large collection of “flavor options.” A Sock Sip Cup™ that never quite makes it back into the cabinet. Perhaps even a growing preference for crew socks over ankle socks.

SIN Soda has always encouraged Sinners to explore new flavors and enjoy the SIN Soda Challenge responsibly. But even we recognize that sometimes, you have to know when to put down the Sock Sip Cup.

If you or someone you know has a sock drinking problem, you’re not alone. Help is available.
